PIP® Sustainability and Responsibility Statement

The world is changing. We, as a global provider of hand protection and PPE along with our industrial distributors and retailer partners, must lead the way by offering products and solutions that minimize environmental impact and maximize protection from occupational hazards. At the same time, PIP® must remain committed to developing products that comply with globally recognized industry standards and perform above customer expectations. This is a challenge that our employees willingly accept because they are bonded by our shared commitment to care for the environment and our customers sustainably and respectfully.

Reduce. Reuse. Re-educate.

We have committed to be continually mindful of waste and encourage the seeking of more durable and reusable safety solutions for work – leaving single-use and disposable solutions for more critical, front line applications. We continue to challenge our sourcing and development teams to identify innovative solutions that are sustainable, reusable and durable. We’ve also refocused our manufacturing to be closer-to-home to ensure that we can do our part to quickly resupply durable PPE such as gloves, face shields, face masks and reusable coveralls. We vow to do our part to keep workers protected.

We are cognizant of the fact that many PPE items are derived from synthetic materials. Where possible, we opt for products that use water-based coatings and have even developed gloves with fibers from recycled PET water bottles. Waste from our knitting operations is reintegrated into lower grade gloves for everyday use. We also extend the option to recycle PIP® products in partnership with our distributors and third-party purveyors – by way of special recuperation boxes at the point of use. These are just a few examples of an ongoing endeavor that is never complete.

Respect and Responsibility

By acting as responsible stewards, we better position our company and our community of stakeholders for a stronger, brighter future. This includes selecting recyclable packaging, supporting a paperless business environment and when possible, opting to outfit offices and manufacturing facilities with energy-efficient lighting and devices.

In our factories and warehouses, we strive to continuously implement environmental best practices and pollution prevention in all aspects of our business and operate in compliance with all pertinent legislation. Each of our more than 20 locations across the globe exercises stringent recycling policies and seek to use environmentally responsible products that meet criteria including reduced packaging, reduced energy and water consumption and the ability to be recycled following use.

Our Operations teams incorporate adherence to labor and child labor laws part of their regular audits. We hold our supplier and longstanding manufacturing partners to the same standard – ensuring that they are operating in compliance with parameters set by their respective governments. This is why we continue to work with trusted longstanding partners who share the same commitment to operating sustainably and respectfully.

Now More Than Ever

We believe the 2020 Pandemic will shift the paradigm of social responsibility even further. We are seeing firsthand how a slowdown in industrial production and the movement of people can quickly have a positive impact on the environment. We’ve taken immediate action to reduce travel by adopting virtual meetings and work from home practices. We have also recently transitioned all marketing collateral to be digitally downloadable and continue to encourage the ongoing use of virtual materials.

Now more than ever, we are dedicated to Bringing the Best of the World to You® through our people, our products, our knowledge and our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
